I’ve worked in the field of public safety since 1980. First joining my local volunteer fire department at the age of 16 riding specifically on their ambulance as an EMT/B. I joined the fire side in 1983. Later in 1983 I applied for and got a job as a dispatcher for the county dispatch center where I live on Delmarva. In 1985 the State of Maryland enacted legislation that required 911 to be implemented by no later that July of that year. The 911 center was born. I have worked my way through the ranks over the years and will soon be in a new position in our department training all new hires as well as in-service training of staff members.
